More about me...

Más sobre mí

Bean and his two companions were found in a state of severe neglect, emaciated and on the brink of starvation. Their plight might have continued if not for the compassion of a determined woman who convinced the owners to relinquish them. This kind soul recognized the urgency of the situation and sought the assistance of SULA.

Bean, a stunning black and tan Chihuahua mix, weighs around 4.5kg. His unique way of prancing, reminiscent of a graceful deer, captures hearts wherever he goes. With a boundless love for running and an endearing dance performed on his hind legs, Bean's energy and charm are truly irresistible.

Despite the hardships he endured, Bean's heart remains open to companionship. He gets along well with other dogs, even though he might display a touch of dominance at times. It's understandable that after enduring such starvation, Bean has developed a tendency to resource guard his food. Who could blame him for being protective after such a traumatic experience? However, Bean's resilience is evident, and with patient positive reinforcement training, he is sure to learn that nourishment will always be plentiful.

While his past has left him a bit shy, Bean's gentle nature is a testament to his resilience. He needs a home that understands the importance of patience and allowing him to set the pace for his own healing journey. Each step forward is a triumph, and those who take the time to understand his needs will be rewarded with a loyal companion who will blossom in their care.

One must note that small dogs like Bean require special consideration and attention to ensure their safety. From the watchful eyes of hawks and eagles to the presence of coyotes and larger dogs, extra care is essential to keep these little ones safe. If you're considering welcoming Bean into your home, please be prepared to provide the additional care and vigilance that a small dog demands.
